Jefferson Airplane – Surrealistic Pillow UK stereo issue with alternate tracks

A UK stereo pressing of Surrealistic Pillow by the Jefferson Airplane, with alternate tracks from the US issue.

Offered for sale is a stereo UK second pressing of the 1967 Jefferson Airplane album, Surrealistic Pillow.

Surrealistic Pillow is widely and rightly regarded as one of the landmark albums of the 1960s and one of the records that brought  psychedelic music to the public’s attention.  Spawning two hits – White Rabbit and Somebody to Love the album turned the Jefferson Airplane into superstars.

The UK pressings differed from the American version, as the UK pressings included some tracks from the band’s debut LP, The Jefferson Airplane Takes Off, and do not include White Rabbit.

Tracks on this version are:

Side 1

“My Best Friend”   “3/5 Of A Mile In 10 Seconds”   “D.C.B.A. – 25”   “How Do You Feel”   “Embryonic Journey”   “Don’t Slip Away”

Side 2

“Come Up The Years”   “Chauffeur Blues”   “Today”   “Comin’ Back To Me”   “Somebody To Love”

The copy offered for sale is a stereo second pressing UK issue on the orange RCA label.  The front cover is laminated and is VG+ with a bit of glue residue on the top right (mostly removed since the photo was taken); the back cover is not laminated and is VG with a small amount of ring wear.  The record is VG++, with just a few sleeve scuffs.  Stamper numbers are 1K on both sides.

A beautiful copy of a scarce variation of an iconic rock album.
