Offered for sale is an original U.S. pressing of Humble Pie’s debut LP, As Safe As Yesterday Is.
About this copy: This copy is pressed on the white, rather than pink, Immediate label, and such copies are often mistaken for promotional issues. While there are white label promo copies of this album, this copy has a stock white label.
The cover is VG+, with just a trace of ring wear. The disc is VG++, with just a few slight sleeve scuffs. The album appears to have had very little play.
A nice copy of a scarce LP.
Background: Early Humble Pie LPs, issued on the Immediate label, are fairly common in the UK, but are somewhat scarce in the U.S., where the label had poor distribution.
AllMusic gave As Safe As Yesterday Is four stars: Humble Pie, known as boogie hammerheads, at least once achieved American popularity in the mid-’70s. Its origins were quite different, however, and its debut album, As Safe as Yesterday Is, is a visionary blend of hard blues, crushing rock, pastoral folk, and post-mod pop.
