Offered for sale is an odd UK/French hybrid pressing of Hollies’ Greatest by the Hollies, likely released in the 1970s.
About this copy: This copy of Hollies’ Greatest is a bit of an odd one; the cover says it was printed in the UK but the label says it was pressed in France.
It’s likely a pressing from the early 1970s, when vinyl shortages in the UK had labels from that country contracting with various foreign counterparts to press records for them.
The label is the black and silver Parlophone label that was used from 1969 through the 1970s.
This one has a M- cover and a M- disc; the record looks unplayed.
A nice copy of a terrific record.
Background: Hollies’ Greatest, released in 1968 in the UK, is a completely different album from the U.S. LP Hollies Greatest Hits which was released a year earlier.
