Description

Offered for sale is an original U.S. stereo pressing of the 1967 LP Evolution by the Hollies.

About this copy: This copy of Evolution is an original U.S. issue on the yellow Epic label.

The cover is VG+, with moderate ring wear on the front (though none on the back) and a punch hole in the upper left hand corner.

The disc is M- and appears to have had little, if any, play.

A nice copy of a terrific LP.

Background: Evolution was the seventh LP by the Hollies and the U.S. version featured the single “Carrie Anne,” which reached #9 on the U.S. charts.  The LP peaked at #43.

The UK version had a different cover and track lineup.

Allmusic.com gave Evolution a 4 star review:

For many Hollies enthusiasts, Evolution (1967) is considered the band’s most accessible blend of pop and psychedelia. The quintet were headed into musical territories beyond simply “moon-June-bloom” and boy-meets-girl lyrics coupled with the tightly constructed vocal harmonies that had become their calling card.

You can listen to “Carrie Anne” here:
