Offered for sale is a Japanese CD-4 quadraphonic pressing of the live album Belafonte at Carnegie Hall by Harry Belafonte, including the original obi.
Note: While the album cover says “The Complete Concert,” this is actually a single-disc compilation of tracks from the original double album. As such, this LP does not have a gatefold cover.
About this copy: This copy of Belafonte at Carnegie Hall is a 1974 Japanese pressing of an album that was originally released in 1959.
The cover is VG+, with slight wear at the corners and edges and a 1″ (2 cm) split at the center of the bottom edge. The obi is M-.. The “hojyhuyo,” or reorder tag, is still attached.
The insert is M-.
The disc is M- with one or two spindle marks on the labels, but no marks on the vinyl. Clean disc!
A nice copy of a rare quadraphonic LP, as the quad version was issued on vinyl only in Japan.
Background: Belafonte at Carnegie Hall, released in 1959, was the first major live album and the album that made Harry Belafonte a star. It’s also a terrific recording and the album has long been revered by audiophiles.
