Offered for sale is a sealed copy of the 1975 LP Seastones, by Phil Lesh and Ned Lagin.
About this copy: This copy of Seastones is an original still sealed pressing; the record is presumably new and unplayed. The cover has a hype sticker attached that mentions the artists’ names. The wrap is fully intact with no rips or tears, and there are no cut corners or punch holes. There is a small bend in the upper right hand corner.
A nice copy of a Grateful Dead rarity that will be hard to upgrade.
Background: Seastones is one of the oddest (and rarest) side projects by a member of the Grateful Dead. The album is an experimental electronic work. While the credited cast includes Jerry Garcia, David Crosby, Grace Slick, Mickey Hart and Spencer Dryden, the music is pretty out there, and most of the (very few) Dead fans who bought the album were left scratching their heads.
Seastones was deleted after a relatively short print run and is unquestionably the hardest album to find on the band’s Round Records label. The cover makes a brief mention of quadraphonic sound (“Disc = SQ Quad”) in small print on the back cover, so the album may be quad/stereo compatible.
