Offered for sale is a still sealed, blue vinyl pressing of Gloria Estefan’s 1998 LP, gloria!
About this copy: This copy of gloria! is a still sealed original 1998 U.S. pressing on blue vinyl. The record is presumably new and unplayed. The shrink wrap is fully intact with no rips, tears, or holes.
Both left-side corners have been bent (see photo).
There are two stickers on the shrink wrap – one hyping the singles “Don’t Let This Moment End” and “Heaven’s What I Feel,” and the other that says “Limited Edition – Blue vinyl.”
Note: This LP contains 11 tracks, where the compact disc and cassette versions contained 16.
A nice copy of a scarce LP that happens to be a pretty good record, too.
Background: Released in 1998, gloria! was the eighth studio album by Gloria Estefan. Aided by the singles “Don’t Let This Moment End” and “Heaven’s What I Feel,” the album reached #23 on the Billboard album charts.
The album was briefly available in shortened form as a vinyl LP, pressed on blue vinyl. Like all 1990s LPs, vinyl pressings of gloria! are rather scarce.
After spending some time exploring her Cuban roots and traditional pop, Gloria Estefan returned to straight-up dance-pop with the infectious Gloria! With its percolating disco beats and sunny melodies, the record recalls her glory days of the late ’80s, but there is a stronger Latin rhythmic underpinning, which gives the music depth. Some of the songs themselves are slight, but most of them rank among her best uptempo songs and ballads, especially since her singing is better than ever. In fact, Gloria! proves that some dance-pop divas can get better — and more adventurous — with age.
