Offered for sale is an original UK pressing of George Harrison’s 1969 LP, Electronic Sound, complete with custom inner sleeve, issued on the short-lived Zapple label.
Electronic Sound is an acquired taste; it’s the result of Harrison fooling around with a Moog synthesizer with the help of Bernie Krause and the results are rather interesting. The LP was issued on the Beatles’ short-lived Zapple Records label, which was intended to provide an outlet for more avant garde recordings. The label only issued two records, this one and John and Yoko’s Live With the Lions before being shut down by the Beatles’ then-manager, Allen Klein.
UK pressings of Electronic Sound are significantly harder to find than their US counterparts. This copy is in exceptional condition; the cover is VG++ with just a bit of wear at the corners and faint traces of ring wear on the back. The record is M-, and aside from a couple of small spindle marks on the label, appears to have had very little play.
A nice copy of a scarce Beatles-related LP.
