Offered for sale is a sealed stereo Capitol Record Club pressing of the 1964 LP, The Very Best of the Everly Brothers by the Everly Brothers.
About this copy: The copy offered for sale is a sealed stereo Capitol Record Club pressing. While the front cover bears the original Warner Brothers 1554 catalog number, the back catalog bears the number ST19343 and says “Manufactured by Capitol Records” at the bottom.
The cover also has a number 9 printed in the lower right hand corner. Capitol pressings with a 9 on the cover appeared between 1968 and 1972 and were pressed at the company’s Jacksonville, Illinois plant. As the record is still sealed, we cannot be sure of the label on the record, but it’s likely to be a green label pressing.
The record is still sealed and is believed to be perfectly mint and unplayed. The wrap has no holes, cuts or tears and the cover is pure white. This is a terrific copy of a great all around album.
Background: The Very Best of the Everly Brothers is the second compilation LP by the Everlys, released in 1964. Rather than licensing earlier material from Cadence Records, the Everlys re-recorded six of their earlier hits for this LP. If you’re looking for a nice overview of their most productive period, this album is probably it.
