A surprisingly good sounding record.
Background: With the success of Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, several other companies rushed to get into the audiophile record market in the early 1980s, among them major labels Columbia and MCA.
While Columbia released dozens of titles in their Mastersound series, MCA released only five, once of which was the soundtrack to the film E.T. – The Extraterristrial.
While the albums in the series were highly regarded by audiophiles, they sold poorly and the entire series was abandoned shortly after it started.
