Offered for sale is an original Japanese white label promotional copy of the double compilation album An Anthology Vol. II by Duane Allman, including the original obi.
This album compiles songs by various artists on which Duane Allman played guitar.
About this copy: This copy of An Anthology Vol. II is a 1974 Japanese pressing on the Warner Brothers label.
The cover is VG with moderate foxing and a nicely repaired seam split at the top edge.
The obi is VG+ with slight foxing but no tears. The “hojyuhyo” (reorder tag) is still attached.
The insert is VG++ with slight discoloration from age.
The two white label promo discs are M- with one or two spindle marks on the labels, but no marks on the vinyl. Clean discs!
A nice copy of a terrific and fairly rare LP.
Background: Released in 1974, An Anthology Vol. II was the second double album containing performances by various artists on which Duane Allman had played guitar.

The session work with other players here isn’t quite as good as the material on the first anthology, but An Anthology, Vol. 2 does feature a live cut by Delaney & Bonnie, plus a pair of what were then previously unissued Allman Brothers Band live tracks (among them “Midnight Rider” from the Fillmore East in June 1971). There’s another good Duane Allman solo number and a good Hour Glass track (“Been Gone Too Long”), more session work with Aretha Franklin and King Curtis, Ronnie Hawkins (“Matchbox”), Wilson Pickett (“Born to Be Wild”), Johnny Jenkins, Boz Scaggs, Sam Samudio, and Otis Rush. The annotation here isn’t as thorough as it was on the first volume, but anyone who owns the first double-CD set will almost certainly have to own this one as well, and for a mid-priced set there’s a lot of very good music.
