Description

Offered for sale is an original U.S. mono pressing of Strange Days by the Doors.

About this copy: This copy of Strange Days is an original U.S. mono issue on the Elektra label, released in late 1967.

The cover is VG-, with ring wear and initials in the upper right hand corner of the back cover.

The disc is VG, with a number of small marks and initials on the side 1 label.  It plays well and appears cleaner at a casual glance.

A nice copy of an LP that’s hard to find in mono.

Background: Strange Days was the second album by the Doors and one of only three of their albums to be released in both stereo and mono.

The LP reached #3 on the U.S. album charts.

Allmusic.com gave Strange Days a 3 1/2 star review:

Many of the songs on Strange Days had been written around the same time as the ones that appeared on The Doors, and with hindsight one has the sense that the best of the batch had already been cherry-picked for the debut album. For that reason, the band’s second effort isn’t as consistently stunning as their debut, though overall it’s a very successful continuation of the themes of their classic album.
