The disc is VG, with a number of small marks and initials on the side 1 label. It plays well and appears cleaner at a casual glance.
A nice copy of an LP that’s hard to find in mono.
Background: Strange Days was the second album by the Doors and one of only three of their albums to be released in both stereo and mono.
The LP reached #3 on the U.S. album charts.
Many of the songs on Strange Days had been written around the same time as the ones that appeared on The Doors, and with hindsight one has the sense that the best of the batch had already been cherry-picked for the debut album. For that reason, the band’s second effort isn’t as consistently stunning as their debut, though overall it’s a very successful continuation of the themes of their classic album.
