About this copy: This copy of Strange Days is a 1974 Japanese pressing on the “butterfly” Elektra label and includes the original obi and lyric insert.
The cover is VG+, with a bit of cover wear and a small discolored area near the top right of the front cover where a price sticker was removed.
The obi, insert and disc are all M-. The disc has a couple of spindle marks on the label, but otherwise looks unplayed.
A nice copy of a terrific LP.
Background: Strange Days, issued in late 1967, was the second album by the Doors. The album reached #3 on the U.S. charts, helped by the Top-30 singles “People are Strange” and “Love Me Two Times.”
Many of the songs on Strange Days had been written around the same time as the ones that appeared on The Doors, and with hindsight one has the sense that the best of the batch had already been cherry-picked for the debut album. For that reason, the band’s second effort isn’t as consistently stunning as their debut, though overall it’s a very successful continuation of the themes of their classic album.
