Description

Offered for sale is a copy of the rare Japanese LP The Doobie Brothers Sampler by the Doobie Brothers, issued only as a promotional item in 1975 to promote the then-new release, Stampede.

About this copy: This copy of The Doobie Brothers Sampler is an original 1975 Japanese pressing.

The thin cover is VG+, with some foxing and a slight corner bend.

The disc is M- and appears to have had little, if any, play.

This LP was issued without an obi or insert.

A nice copy of a terrific (and very rare) LP.

Background: To promote the release of the then-new Doobie Brothers LP Stampede in 1975, Warner Brothers Records prepared an LP for use by Japanese radio to promote that album, along with three of their previous releases.  No tracks are included from their self-titled debut.

This album was a promotional release only, limited to 100-200 copies, and was not sold commercially.

Tracks are:

  • Sweet Maxine
  • Take Me In Your Arms
  • I Cheat the Hangman
  • Pursuit on 53rd St.
  • Black Water
  • Listen to the Music
  • Jesus is Just Alright
  • Natural Thing
  • Long Train Runnin’
  • China Grove
  • Dark Eyed Cajun Woman
