Offered for sale is an original U.S. promotional copy of Donna Summer, the self-titled LP by Donna Summer, pressed on high-quality Quiex II vinyl.
The Quiex II vinyl was used only for promotional copies.
About this copy: This copy of Donna Summer is a 1982 U.S. pressing on the Geffen label.
The cover is VG+ with light general wear. There is a hype sticker on the cover promoting the single “Love is in Control” and another sticker that says “QUIEX II Limited Edition Pressing.”
The custom inner sleeve is VG, with splits on three sides.
The disc is VG+ with some light scuffs from the paper inner sleeve but no significant marks. It’s a clean disc that has likely had little play.
A nice copy of a scarce (and well-recorded) Donna Summer LP.
Background: Released in 1982, Donna Summer was the ninth album by Donna Summer.
The album reached #20 on the U.S. album chart and #13 on the UK chart.
The follow-up to Donna Summer’s first big Geffen album did reasonably well and proved to be the lull before the storm. “State of Independence” just missed being a hit, and “Woman In Me” cracked the pop and R&B Top 40, although it wasn’t a smash. But the album mostly reaffirmed that Summer was back in stride and hadn’t merely scored a fluke with her previous release.
