Offered for sale is an original U.S. stereo pressing of Hello, I’m Dolly, the debut LP by Dolly Parton.
About this copy: This copy of Hello, I’m Dolly is a 1967 U.S. stereo pressing on the Monument label.
The cover is VG++ with a couple of tiny corner dents and a small bend in the lower right hand corner.
The disc is M- on side one and VG+ on side two with a few light marks on the second track. It’s a fairly clean disc that has had little play.
A nice copy of a fairly rare Dolly Parton LP.
Background: After a decade of releasing singles on various labels, Dolly Parton finally got a chance to record an album when she signed with Monument Records in 1967.
Hello, I’m Dolly was a moderate success, reaching #11 on the U.S. Country charts, helped by the single “Dumb Blonde,” which reached #24 on the Country singles charts.
The charismatic Dolly Parton came on strong with these early session for Monument. At least half the songs are among her classics, while the rest of the material is hardly weak…. The personality that Parton brought to her material is here in full force.
