Background: Let’s Dance, released in 1983, was the 15th studio album by David Bowie. The album was a huge success, reaching #1 in the UK and #4 in the U.S., where it spawned three hit singles – “China Girl,” “Modern Love,” and “Let’s Dance,” which reached #1 on the charts.

Another reason fans like the album is that a then-unknown Stevie Ray Vaughan played guitar.

Allmusic.com gave Let’s Dance a 3 star review:

After summing up his maverick tendencies on Scary Monsters, David Bowie aimed for the mainstream with Let’s Dance. Hiring Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers as a co-producer, Bowie created a stylish, synthesized post-disco dance music that was equally informed by classic soul and the emerging new romantic subgenre of new wave, which was ironically heavily inspired by Bowie himself.
