Offered for sale is an original stereo pressing of Cilla Black’s 1965 LP, Is It Love? released on Capitol Records.
Cilla Black is an interesting footnote from the British Invasion, as she’s actually the second most successful artist from Liverpool after the Beatles. Discovered by Beatles manager Brian Epstein, Black managed 19 top 40 hits in Britain, including two that topped the charts.
She was less successful in the United States, where she only managed to put one song in the American Top 40. Still, Capitol Records agreed to give her a shot, and the 1965 LP Is It Love?, whose title track reached #133 on the American charts, was her only Capitol release and is rather hard to find today.

The copy offered for sale has a VG+ cover, with just a bit of ring wear and a cutout hole in the lower right hand corner. The record is VG++, with just a couple of slight scuffs from being removed from the heavy paper sleeve. The record appears to have had very little play.
A nice copy of a scarce British Invasion artifact.
