Offered for sale is a scarce German pressing of the 1991 LP Love Hurts by Cher, an album that was not released on vinyl in the United States.
About this copy: This copy of Love Hurts is an original German pressing with the first cover (the second cover was white and pictured Cher wearing a red wig.)
The cover and disc are M-; the disc looks unplayed. The custom inner sleeve is included.
A beautiful copy of an album that’s quite hard to find on vinyl.
Background: Love Hurts was the 20th studio album by Cher. Released in June, 1991, the album reached #48 in the U.S., but went all the way to #1 in the UK. The single “Love and Understanding” reached #17 on the U.S. charts.
The album was not released on vinyl in the United States, but there were pressings made in Germany for distribution throughout Europe. For some reason, the album was issued with two different covers.
1991’s Love Hurts follows the same formula as the Cher and Heart of Stone albums that had rejuvenated Cher’s pop career in the late 1980s. …The moderate hit singles “Love and Understanding” and “Save Up All Your Tears” (the former written and the latter co-written by Diane Warren) are pleasantly melodic; apart from those tracks, though, only a surprising cover of the obscure Kiss song, “A World Without Heroes,” is really worth seeking out.
