This 1972 LP was released only in Japan.

About this copy: This copy of Harold and Maude is a 1972 pressing on the A&M label.

The gatefold cover is VG+ with slight foxing.

This LP came with two obi; the regular one and another one noting Stevens’ tour of Japan.

The larger obi is VG++, with no tears, but with slight foxing on the back  The tour obi is VG++ with slight foxing.  The “hojyuhyo,” or reorder tag, is still attached to the larger obi.

The lyric insert is VG+ with moderate foxing.

The disc is VG+ with a few light marks on each side.  There are many spindle marks on the labels; the record has been played a lot but has been well cared for.

A nice copy of a very rare and highly sought-out Cat Stevens LP.

Background: Harold and Maude is a bit of an odd duck; the album was titled after the film of the same name, but it’s not exactly a soundtrack, as the two Cat Stevens songs composed exclusively for the film are not on the LP, and some songs that are not in the film are on the album.

The 1972 LP was originally released only in Japan, but in 2007, a slightly different version was released in the U.S.

Tracks on this LP are:

  • Morning Has Broken
  • Wild World
  • I Think I See The Light
  • I Wish, I Wish
  • Trouble
  • Father And Son
  • Miles From Nowhere
  • Lilywhite
  • Where Do The Children Play
  • On The Road To Find Out
  • Lady D’Arbanville
  • Tea For The Tillerman
