Allmusic.com gave Carrie McDowell a 3 star review:
Routine late-’80s urban contemporary album. McDowell had a strong, if at times unsure voice, and did her best on mostly forgettable material. But other than the single “Uh Uh, No No Casual Sex,” she didn’t generate much attention or action with this album.
