Description
Offered for sale is an early UK pressing of the 1958 LP Chantilly Lace by the Big Bopper.
About this copy: This copy of Chantilly Lace is an early UK pressing on the Mercury label; the original price tag is dated 1/60.
The cover is VG, with some lamination creasing, a small tear at the mouth, and initials written on the back cover.
The disc is surprisingly clean, and is VG+ on side one, with a few light marks, and VG++ on side two, with just a few faint scuffs. There are a few spindle marks on the labels.
A beautiful copy of a hard to find album that should make a terrific play copy. In our experience, the early 1960s UK Mercury LPs sound terrific.
Background: Released in 1958, Chantilly Lace was the only album released by Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson) in his lifetime, as he died in a plane crash shortly after the album’s release.
