Description
Offered for sale is an original Japanese pressing of the soundtrack to Yellow Submarine by the Beatles, pressed on red vinyl and including the original obi.
About this copy: This copy of the Yellow Submarine soundtrack is an original 1969 Japanese issue on the Apple label and pressed on “Everclean” red vinyl.
The cover is M- with trace corner wear. The lyric insert is M-. The black inner sleeve is M- and has no splits.
The obi is VG++, with slight foxing on the back. The “hojyuhyo” (reorder tag) is still attached.
The red vinyl record is VG++ and close to M- on side one, as it has a faint scuff through the first two tracks that do not affect play. Side two is M-. There are no spindle marks on the labels; the record may be unplayed. Clean disc!
A nice copy of an album that’s hard to find in either collectible condition or with the original obi.
Background: Yellow Submarine is one of the stranger LPs in the Beatles catalog, as it’s half a Beatles album and half a soundtrack album with orchestrations by George Martin. Each gets one side.
The Beatles side included four new songs along with two that had been previously released. The other side of the album contained all-new material.
In Japan, first pressings of the album were pressed on beautiful “Everclean” red vinyl, while later pressings were issued on black vinyl.
