Offered for sale is a U.S. copy of Sessions by the Beatles.
About this copy: This copy of Sessions is an unauthorized U.S. pressing of the mid-1980s LP.
Cover and disc are M-. Pressed on translucent virgin vinyl.
A nice collection of tracks.
Background: Sessions was intended for release in 1984, and was a collection of then-unreleased (but fully complete) songs by the Beatles that had, for whatever reason, never been previously released.
The album was compiled by Capitol Records and in-house cassette tapes were prepared for record company personnel to use for evaluation purposes, but the album was ultimately not released due to to objections by the members of the band.
The material was later released in the Anthology series.
In the mid-1980s, copies of the tapes circulated among collectors and there were several different vinyl releases of the album. Versions from the U.S. had a white cover and versions from Europe had a blue cover with different artwork.
