Offered for sale is an early U.S. stereo pressing of Meet the Beatles, issued in 1964 on Capitol Records.
Meet the Beatles was the first Beatles album to be issued by Capitol Records, and it quickly rose to the top of the charts on the strength of the lead single, “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
The album was issued in both mono and stereo with several minor cover variations, including printing the word “Beatles” on the front cover in various colors.
About this copy: This copy of Meet the Beatles is an early stereo pressing, pressed at the Scranton, Pennsylvania pressing plant, as indicated by the “3” on the back cover. “Beatles” is in light brown on the front cover and the cover has a “Gold Record Award” logo.
The cover is VG, with moderate wear, but no tears or holes. There’s a bit of writing on the front cover at upper right. The mono disc is VG++, but has an inaudible mark through one track.
A nice copy of a terrific LP and a great play copy.
