Background: The Trademark of Quality record label, based in California, was one of the earliest manufacturers of what were then called “underground” records. Many of their titles were pressed on colored vinyl and all of them are scarce today.
This title is unusual for the TMOQ label, which specialized in releasing live and previously unreleased studio recordings. The Complete Christmas Collection 1963-1969 is actually a reissue of an album that had been released in 1970 to members of the Beatles fan club.
The material came from individual singles that were sent out every year at Christmas to members of the Beatles fan club in the U.S. and the UK, with the Beatles offering Christmas greetings to their fans. Both the U.S. and UK versions of the original album are quite rare, so TMOQ opted to reissue it to make it more generally available.
