Offered for sale is an original 1977 UK pressing of The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl by the Beatles.
At the height of Beatlemania, Capitol Records recorded the Beatles’ appearances at the Hollywood Bowl in California in both 1964 and 1965. The recording technology of the time did not allow the record company to remove the all-encompassing crowd noise, and the label put the tapes into their vaults without releasing them.
In 1977, when Lingasong Records released Live at the Star Club, Capitol had renewed interested in putting live Beatles material on the market. They dusted off the tapes from the 1964 and 1965 shows and put together a live album that consisted of tracks from both shows.
