Offered for sale is a still sealed copy of the limited edition, 2 LP red vinyl pressing of the Beatles 1962-1966, released in 1978 by Capitol Records.
About this copy: The copy of Beatles 1962-1966 offered for sale is a still sealed 1978 U.S. red vinyl pressing. As the album is still sealed, the records are presumably new and unplayed.
There is a “Limited Edition” hype sticker on the front shrink wrap and a sticker listing song titles on the back shrink wrap. There is a clean punch hole in the upper right hand corner of the cover, indicating that this was a promotional copy.
The wrap is fully intact except for a 4″ split at the mouth of the cover near the top. Other than that, there are no holes, rips, or tears.
A nice copy of a scarce colored vinyl set.
Background: In 1978, during the “colored vinyl and picture disc boom”, Capitol Records released two Beatles picture discs and three colored vinyl albums – the Beatles 1962-1966 on red vinyl, Beatles 1967-1970 on blue vinyl, and The Beatles (aka “The White Album”) on white vinyl. All were limited editions, and were out of print within a year.
