Offered for sale is an autographed original mono pressing of BB King’s 1963 LP, Mr. Blues
About this copy: This original mono pressing of Mr Blues comes from our personal collection. It was acquired in the mid-1980s from the estate of a former nightclub owner in Dallas, Texas. This club frequently had popular jazz, blues and pop artists perform there, and the owner routinely had every artist sign a copy of their latest album for him. We had quite a few pieces from this collection at one time, and kept a handful of titles for our own collection.
The back cover is inscribed, “To Charles, Best Wishes – BB King” in blue ballpoint pen. The cover is M-, the record is VG++ with a couple of faint sleeve scuffs. There are no other marks and no spindle marks on the label, so it’s possible that the record has never been played. The original ABC custom inner sleeve is included, but the sleeve does have an 8″ split down one side.
A beautiful and rare signed copy of a classic BB King album.
Background: After a few years of poorly produced recordings for the Crown label, BB King moved to ABC-Paramount, and Mr Blues was his first of a number of albums he’d record for the label of the next 15 years.
