Offered for sale is an original Japanese copy of the self-titled debut album by Bachman-Turner Overdrive, complete with obi.
About this copy: This copy Bachman-Turner Overdrive is an original Japanese pressing, complete with obi. As far as we know, this album was never reissued there; the first pressings are all there are, and they didn’t sell well at all.
The cover is VG++, with wear at the corners and a 1″ split at the center of the top and bottom edges of the cover.
The record is M-.
A nice copy of a pretty good record that’s quite hard to find.
Background: After Randy Bachman left the Guess Who, he formed a band called Brave Belt. They did two albums for Reprise that didn’t sell well and after recording their third album, Reprise released them from their contract. They shopped the album around and Mercury Records showed interest, but asked the band to change their name.
They became Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Their first album, the self-titled Bachman-Turner Overdrive didn’t sell well (though it later was certified gold), but set the tone for the success the band would see with their follow-up, Bachman-Turner Overdrive II.
