Description
Offered for sale is a German promotional issue of Back Up Against the Wall, the second album by the Atlanta Rhythm Section.
About this copy: This copy of Back Up Against the Wall is an original German pressing on the MCA label. While this copy has stock labels, it has a sticker reading “Trade Sample” in both English and German on side one.
The cover is M- and has a couple of slightly dented corners.
The record is M- and looks unplayed.
A beautiful copy of an album that’s surprisingly hard to find.
Background: The Atlanta Rhythm Section, later nicknamed ARS, was created from the remnants of two bands that had enjoyed a bit of success in the 1960s – the Candymen and the Classics IV.
It took them a while to find their sound, but by the late 1970s, they’d released several albums that went gold, including Champagne Jam and A Rock and Roll Alternative.
While the band’s first album, the self-titled Atlanta Rhythm Section, scraped the lower part of the Billboard charts, peaking at #210, the second album, 1973’s Back Up Against the Wall, failed to chart altogether.
That’s a shame, as Back Up Against the Wall was the first album to feature singer Ronnie Hammond.
