Offered for sale is a rare red vinyl pressing of the 1967 Japan-only LP The Best of Antonio Carlos Jobim, by Antonio Carlos Jobim, complete with original obi.
About this copy: This copy of The Best of Antonio Carlos Jobim is an original 1967 pressing of the Japan-only compilation LP, pressed on “Everclean” red vinyl and including the rare original obi.
The cover is VG++, with a faint record impression. The obi is VG++, with a couple of minor wrinkles, but no tears. The “hojyuhyo,” or re-order tag, is still attached.
The red vinyl disc is M- with a couple of very faint sleeve scuffs. The original envelope-style inner sleeve is included.
This LP was issued without a lyric insert.
A beautiful copy of a rare (and terrific!) bossa nova LP that is rarely found complete.
Background: Antonio Carlos Jobim (1927-1994) is considered to be one of the founders of the Bossa Nova movement and was largely responsible for the popularity of Bossa Nova around the world throughout the 1960s.
While he’s known for many songs in the genre, he’s best-known as the composer of “The Girl from Ipanema.”
