Offered for sale is an original U.S. pressing of School’s Out by Alice Cooper, featuring the original cover with no song titles and including a blue pair of paper panties.
This is an unusual pressing in that the record has the “Burbank” Warner Brothers label rather than the original all-green one. Warner changed their label a few months after the release of this album, and this copy was likely one of the last to include the panties as an insert.
About this copy: This copy of School’s Out is a 1973 pressing on the Warner Brothers label.
The cover is an original issue without song titles on the back cover. The cover unfolds into the shape of a school desk; this copy appears to never have been unfolded.
The cover is VG++, with very slight edge wear.
The blue panties are VG++ with a couple of minor wrinkles.
The disc is VG++ and close to M-, with a couple of faint scuffs on each side. It appears to have only been played a couple of times.
A nice copy of a classic album that is hard to find complete.
Background: Released in 1972, School’s Out was the fifth album by Alice Cooper.
The album reached #2 on the U.S. charts and #4 on the UK chart.
School’s Out catapulted Alice Cooper into the hard rock stratosphere, largely due to its timeless, all-time classic title track. But while the song became Alice’s highest-charting single ever (reaching number seven on the U.S. charts) and recalled the brash, three-and-a-half-minute garage rock of yore, the majority of the album signaled a more complex compositional directional for the band.
