A sealed copy of the Dutch orange vinyl pressing of Big Hits High Tide and Green Grass by the Rolling Stones.
Offered for sale is a still sealed orange vinyl pressing of Big Hits [High Tide and Green Grass] by the Rolling Stones, issued in Holland in 1978.
In the late 1970s, collectors around the world were showing a lot of interest in both colored vinyl and picture discs, so record companies offered plenty of both for both newly released albums and older titles from their catalog.
In Holland, Decca Records issued a number of colored vinyl Rolling Stones albums, including Beggar’s Banquet, Let It Bleed, and Their Satanic Majesties Request, along with a couple of compilations, all on different colors of vinyl.
Among them was their first hits compilation, Big Hits [High Tide and Green Grass], which was issued on orange vinyl, with a circle printed on the cover that said “Limited Edition Rolling Stones on Colored Vinyl.”
About this copy: This copy of Big Hits [High Tide and Green Grass] is a still sealed pressing on orange vinyl. The record is presumably new and umplayed. The album is sealed in a thick baggy, rather than in shrink wrap. A small amount of residue from a price sticker remains on the back. The cover is VG++, with tiny bits of wear at the corners.
This is the first sealed copy of one of these colored vinyl Stones albums that we’ve seen in decades.
