A sealed limited edition picture disc pressing of Meat Loaf's 1977 LP, Bat Out of Hell
Offered for sale is a sealed, limited edition picture disc pressing of Meat Loaf’s 1977 LP, Bat Out of Hell.
Meat Loaf’s 1977 LP, Bat Out of Hell, a collaboration with songwriter Jim Steinman, took the world by storm and got a lot of airplay, spawned a couple of hit singles, and sold a lot of records. In 1978 Epic Records released a picture disc edition of the album that was sent only to radio stations as a promotional item. As that picture disc began to change hands for large sums of money on the collector’s market, due to the terrific artwork, Epic decided to release a commercial version of the picture disc, in a slightly different cover. That album sold poorly, and is somewhat hard to find today.
The copy offered for sale is the commercial version of the picture disc, with the burgundy cover (promo copies had a black cover). This item is still sealed and is new and presumably unplayed. The shrinkwrap is fully intact. There are remnants of a price sticker on the front cover.
