An original pressing of the Buckingham Nicks LP.
Offered for sale is an original pressing of the only album by Buckingham Nicks, released in 1973 by Polydor Records.
Before joining Fleetwood Mac in 1975, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham had tried several times, without success, to make it in the music business. They were initially in a band called Fritz that released just one single. After that, they tried to make it as a duo, and they released a couple of singles and one album for Polydor Records in 1973, titled Buckingham Nicks.
The album sold poorly and was quickly deleted. Two years later, when the duo joined Fleetwood Mac and became successful, Polydor reissued the album, though the reissue lacked the gatefold cover found on the original issues.
Despite the poor sales, the album sold reasonably well due to Fleetwood Mac’s success and if you like that band, you’ll like the Buckingham Nicks LP. For some reason, the album was deleted again in the early 1980s, possibly at the request of the artists themselves. To this day, the Buckingham Nicks LP has never been released on compact disc, though the project has reportedly been “in the works” for a number of years now.
The copy of Buckingham Nicks offered for sale is an original 1973 pressing with the gatefold cover. Inside is an additional photo of the duo, along with lyrics to all of the songs. Unlike most copies, this one does not have a cut corner.
The cover is a nice VG, with just slight general wear. The disc is VG+, with a couple of small scuffs. It appears to have had little play.
A nice copy of a record that’s getting harder to find all the time.
